MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN OF LIGHT
Commissioned for the Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Hotel in Cascais, Mediterranean Garden of Light is a site-specific textile installation comprising seven monumental chandeliers and a six-metre reception artwork. Developed in collaboration with Goddard Littlefair and TPC Lighting Studio, the project transforms handcrafted textile into an architectural language of light, rhythm and atmosphere.

MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN OF LIGHT
Inspired by the natural landscape surrounding Quinta da Marinha, the installation interprets the Mediterranean garden through rhythm, movement and suspended light.
Seven monumental chandeliers descend through the atrium at different heights, creating a sculptural composition that accompanies visitors from arrival to the upper galleries.
Instead of repeating identical objects, each chandelier was individually developed to contribute to the overall spatial choreography.
THE RECEPTION INSTALLATION
Alongside the suspended chandeliers, Craft Gardens created a bespoke six-metre textile artwork for the reception area.
Composed of handcrafted tassels arranged in a continuous linear rhythm, the installation introduces warmth and tactile presence to one of the hotel's principal arrival spaces, reinforcing the dialogue between architecture, hospitality and craft.

ARTIST'S REFLECTION
"This project challenged me to think beyond the individual artwork and to consider how textile sculpture could inhabit architecture at an entirely different scale. Every tassel, every proportion and every suspension point became part of a larger composition designed to shape the way people move, pause and experience the space."
